WATERLOO (KWWL) - U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont made several appearances in Iowa this weekend.

Sanders spoke at the Waterloo Center for the Arts Sunday afternoon. The senator also was in Dubuque Saturday, and is scheduled to appear in Des Moines Sunday night.

On Meet the Press Sunday morning, Sen. Sanders said he is considering a run in the 2016 Presidential Election. He also told the group in Waterloo what he believes is waning in Washington D.C.

"What we are doing and should be doing in all 50 states in the country, and unfortunately we're not, is practicing something today that is very radical. You know what the radical act that we're practicing is called? It's called democracy. And we need a lot more democracy in America," Sanders said.

Sen. Sanders is the longest serving independent congressman in United States history.
