In Class 1A District 4 action, the Hudson Pirates traveled to Sumner to take on the unbeaten Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars.
The Cougars struck first with a 15-yard touchdown run from Derek Kohlmeyer to give Sumner-Fredericksburg the 6-0 lead early in the first quarter.
The Pirates looked to get on the board, but their offense sputtered the entire half with fumbles and negative plays. The game went into halftime with the Cougars at a six-point lead.
Sumner-Fredericksburg got on the right foot early in the second half as Tyler Schmitz brought the Cougars within the Pirate ten-yard line after a big run.
Derek Kohlmeyer finished off the drive with a five-yard score to put the Cougars up 12-0.
That lead was short-lived, however, as Hudson was able to rally back in the fourth quarter to knock off Sumner-Fredericksburg, 21-18.
Both teams now stand at 2-1 at this point in the season.
