IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Jim Parker, the son of former Hawkeye defensive coordinator Norm Parker, will serve as honorary captain during Saturday's game against Iowa State on Saturday.

Norm Parker was Iowa's defensive coordinator for 13 of his 48 years of coaching. He joined the Hawkeye staff in 1999. He died on Jan. 13.

Jim Parker will join the Iowa captains at the center of the field for the pregame coin toss, and will be with the Hawkeyes in the locker room before and after the game, and on the sidelines during the game.

Jim is president and owner of Diama-Shield. He earned his bachelor's degree from Michigan State and his law degree from Wayne State.
