Volunteers needed for upcoming water program

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -
The Black Hawk Soil and Water District will be partnering with IOWATER and the Iowa Dept. of Natural Resources volunteer water monitoring program to gather water quality data from the four branches of Dry Run Creek.

A snapshot water quality monitoring event will be held Oct. 4, an event in which multiple sites throughout the geographical area will be sampled within about three hours. Volunteers are asked to help collect water samples and data.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. until noon on Oct. 4. Volunteers are asked to meet the the Cedar Falls Tourism and Visitors Bureau, located at 6510 Hudson Rd. in Cedar Falls. Instructions will be given and locations throughout town will be marked with pink flags and a site ID number.
 
It will take place rain or shine, so volunteers are asked to dress accordingly.
