SPRINGVILLE (KWWL) -

Voters in Springville don't want to spend more than $7.2 million upgrading the school district's elementary school.

The "no" votes came in just under the "yes" votes, at 49.42 percent to 50.58 percent, on Public Measure F, which would have authorized the district to buy $7,220,000 in bonds for the improvements -- but the measure needed a super majority of 60 percent of yes voters to pass.

Voters similarly nixed a new property tax levy to pay for it, with 51.29 percent saying no.

By the numbers: (unofficial results):

Yes: 395 (50.58%)
No: 386 (49.42%)

Public Measure G:
Yes: 378 (48.71%)
No: 398 (51.29%)
