Posted: Updated:
SOLON (KWWL) -

Solon voters were ready for a new middle school.

Voters approved both a $25.5 million bond issue to build a new middle school and improve the existing high school by a 71 percent to 29 percent margin. The issue only needed 60 percent of voters to agree.

Voters also said yes by the same vote percentage to a new, 10-year Physical Plant and Equipment Levy of $1.34 per $1,000 of taxable property. That measure only required a simple majority, or just over 50 percent, to pass.

By the numbers (unofficial results):

Public Measure B (bond issue):
Yes: 698 (71%)
No: 284 (28%)

Public Measure C (PPEL):
Yes: 695 (70%)
No: 286 (29%)
