CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

For the first time in Panther history, the team is traveling to Honolulu, Hawaii for non-conference play.

The Panthers will take on Hawaii's Rainbow Warriors this Saturday at 11 p.m., but they're starting their travels on Wednesday.

The team and coaches will leave in increments from the UNI Dome Wednesday morning at 5 a.m. where they will then take buses to Minneapolis. From Minneapolis they'll travel to LAX, then finally to Hawaii.

The University of Hawaii will cover the Panthers expenses - including all of the airfare and hotel expenses plus a $30,000 food budget.

The Panthers will return to Cedar Falls next Monday. They'll take a short break before their homecoming game against Northern Colorado next Saturday.
