Ames spoils Pat Mitchell ceremony for Cedar Falls 24-10

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) - A big game in the UNI-Dome as Ames would pay a visit to Cedar Falls.

A long fourth-down pass would from Trey Hansen to Tra'von Fagan would set up Cedar Falls first score.

Rodney Hinton punches it in on a 1-yard run for a 7-0 lead.

The Little Cyclones would try to get something going in the first half, but the Cedar Falls defense would come up with several sacks to keep Ames off the score board.

Cedar Falls would add a 27-yard field goal by Caleb Iehl. Cedar Falls would go into halftime up 10-0.

At halftime the Tigers would honor Coach Pat Mitchell. They presented him with a framed jersey and a painting.

A video on the UNI-Dome jumbo-tron featured Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz and UNI coach Mark Farley.

The second half would not be kind to the Tigers as Ames would come back for a big win, 24-10.
