Voters to decide Tuesday on Solon school, Center for Performing Arts

Posted: Updated:
SOLON (KWWL) -

On Tuesday voters in the Solon Community School District will have to decide whether to build a new middle school and Center for Performing Arts. The district says it needs the buildings due to increasing enrollment.

It's a $25.5 million question at stake, the estimated cost to build  the two buildings.

The district says property taxes will not go up due to this referendum, which needs 60 percent of votes in favor to pass.

There will be a second question in the ballot for these voters asking them to renew the district's current Physical Plant and Equipment Levy. Since it is an extension, not an increase, property taxes will not see a spoke.

That question needs approval from 50 percent of voters.

Polls are open Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
