IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

A Los Angeles band, The Wallflowers, will be performing for Homecoming 2014 at the University of Iowa.

The concert put on by SCOPE Productions will be held on the Pentacrest Lawn on Friday, October 10.

The Wallflowers formed their band in 1989 with co-founder and front-man, Jakob Dylan.

The band was initially based out of Los Angeles, California where they picked up their alternative-rock sound.

The band has won two Grammy Awards for their 1998 hit “One Headlight.”

They're most recognized for their 90's songs, and they've since recorded several other albums over the years, adding up to six records in total.

Other notable songs from these collections are “The Beautiful Side of Somewhere,” and their newest single, “Reboot The Mission”.

The show will start immediately following the Homecoming parade and Coronation. Co-headliner is yet to be announced.

The event is free and open to the public.
