Gameday parking impacted due to weather

Posted: Updated:
IOWA CITY (KWWL) -
Rain that's doused eastern Iowa the past few days has hindered parking for Saturday's game of U of I versus UNI at Kinnick Stadium.

The UI Athletics Department expects about half of the football gameday parking on grass surfaces at the University of Iowa's Finkbine Golf Course to be unavailable Saturday due to recent weather.

Finkbine Golf Course is one of the parking lots on game days that is accessible to fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes who are not members of the National I-Club.  Other general public parking lots include Lot 11 near the UI's Campus Wellness and Recreation Center located on Madison Street immediately east of the Iowa River, the parking lot adjacent to the new Hancher Auditorium and the Levitt Center for University Advancement (free parking and shuttle service provided), Lot 85 ("Hawkeye Commuter," free parking and shuttle service provided) located immediately northeast of Finkbine Golf Course and accessible off Hawkins Drive.

Fans are also invited to ride the Hawkeye Express.  The UI's "Train to the Game" provides pre-game and post-game service from Coralville near the IHOP restaurant and Clarion Hotel to the southwest corner of Kinnick Stadium.

Fans can also click here for an interactive parking map of the stadium.
