The skies opened up here a couple of times tonight, which was pretty much deja vu all over again. The last time we were here, played into the wee hours of the morning. This time with Decorah in town would go late as well.
Both the Tigerhawks and the Vikings would come out looking to start things off with a bang tonight.
It's not exactly what happened, but North Fayette Valley finally broke a scoreless tie in the second quarter. Trevor Hurd hit Jared Bouska on a 25 yard scoring strike. 6 to nothing Tigerhawks.
Hurd looking for more later, but not this time. He's picked by Andy Sikkink, the Vikings in business looking to capitalize.
Then 3 plays later, Decorah quarterback Drake Schuring gives it right back. Phil Kleve from the Tigerhawks with the pick drove deep in to Viking territory.
But inside the 10 Hurd coughs it up and Cole Headington comes up with the recover. This one remained 6, nothing at half.
The second half began and the skies opened up, a second lightning delay midway through the third quarter and both teams scampered off the field.
Once they got back on, North Fayette Valley held onto their lead to make it 14-0 final.
