Dubuque law enforcement cracks down on underage drinking

Posted: Updated:

The Dubuque Police Department will be conducting special foot/vehicle patrols and enforcement specifically focused on underage, alcohol-related, social gatherings.

The project will span several weeks, with officers being increasingly vigilant for gatherings that appear to promote disorder, underage/excessive alcohol consumption, disturbing the peace, and similar issues.

The project is funded through grants obtained through the Dubuque Police Department's partnership with Helping Services for Northeast Iowa.

The project was developed as a part of the agencies' ongoing efforts to address underage alcohol consumption, social disorder, illegal activity, and the danger often associated with late summer/early fall gatherings including

high school and college students returning to school.
