"Pop-Pop" is coming to the University of Iowa.

Actor Jeffrey Tambor, famous for his role as the embattled patriarch of the TV show "Arrested Development," will kick off the 2014 Lecture Series on Thursday, Aug. 28.

His talk, "Performing Your Life," will begin at 8 p.m. in the Main Lounge of the Iowa Memorial Union.

The event is free and open to all.

Tambor has been honored with six Emmy nominations and two Screen Actors Guild Awards, in addition to a Television Critics Association Award nomination for Outstanding Individual Achievement in a Comedy Series.

"Arrested Development," aired for three seasons on FOX from 2003 to 2006.

Streaming giant Netflix picked up the show for a fourth season in 2013. Netflix representatives have called a fifth season a "matter of time."

No word yet on if Tambor's lecture will cover that "there is always money in the banana stand."
