Grant keeps mobile food pantry running

Posted: Updated:

The Salvation Army received a $5000 grant from the Alliant Energy Foundation to support its mobile feeding unit.

The money will allow the group to continue providing community meals. The mobile program serves breakfast and a sack lunch to 4 Cedar Rapids shelters and 2 other locations.

In 2013, more than 35000 meals were served in Linn Co. The mobile program is intended to fill the gaps of other community meal programs.
