UPDATE: Boil advisory for Pikes Peak State Park lifted

Posted: Updated:
CLAYTON COUNTY (KWWL) - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says the boil advisory issued for Pikes Peak State park on August 22 has been lifted.

The advisory, which was issued after the campground distribution was hooked onto a new well, forced campers to boil their water. Water was also shut off at water hydrants and the modern shower and restroom facilities.

The DNR says the system was shock chlorinated for 24 hours and then flushed for two days to remove the chlorine. Water samples tested clean for bacteria on Wednesday.
