Waterloo Police look for suspects in armed robbery Friday

Posted: Updated:

Waterloo Police confirm an armed robbery took place at the Kwik Star in Waterloo, located at Washington and 9th Streets, around 4 a.m. Friday.

Police say at least one person went into the gas station store and showed a handgun; police, however, wouldn't say if anything was taken.

KWWL had a crew at the gas station Friday morning, and saw multiple Waterloo Police cars and one Black Hawk Co. Sheriff's car parked in front of the Kwik Star. Officers also used a police dog to inspect the area surrounding the gas station.

People pumping gas said they were shocked, and said they usually stop at the Kwik Star on their way to work.

"Every morning. Get coffee, gas before work, then I leave. But this is weird this morning, I can't do anything," DeShun Ketchens said.

A sign posted on the gas station door early Friday morning said it was closed temporarily, and would reopen as soon as possible.

No one was hurt, but police say they are looking for multiple robbery suspects.

If you have any information on the robbery, call Waterloo Police.
