UNI Women's soccer opens season on Friday

Posted: Updated:

The UNI Women's soccer team is coming off a disappointing 4 and 15 season marred by injuries and a lot of close losses.

In fact the Panthers were either tied of had the lead in the second half of 15 of their 19 games last fall.

Despite their efforts uni soccer has been picked to finish in last place in the conference this fall--but the Panthers did have one voter pick them to finish in first place.

UNI head coach James Price said, "Well that would be me--but I do that every year--i am a little bit immature or childish when it comes to that if I don't believe I can win I don't want to play and that comes to monopoly at home let alone a collegiate environment."

UNI opens the season at home Friday against the Iowa Hawkeyes at the Cedar Valley Soccer complex.
