DYERSVILLE (KWWL) -

Investigators with the Dubuque Drug Task Force located items commonly used in manufacturing methamphetamine in a Dyersville home Wednesday afternoon.

Dyersville police said the find was one of the biggest methamphetamine busts in Dyersville in recent years.

Kevin Deutmeyer, of 617 2nd St. N.E. Dyersville, was arrested for possession of precursors with intent to manufacture, a class D felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison.

Drug Task Force investigators located items commonly used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, via the "one pot method," according to a press release.

KWWL talked to people who live near the Deutmeyer who said the news was shocking. They said they never expected methamphetamine to be made in near their homes.

However, they did say right up the street another house was caught manufacturing meth in the spring. Neighbors said they were relieved that the methamphetamine was out of the neighborhood and everyone was safe.

Neighbors said Deutmeyer lived in the house with three children.

Deutmeyer is currently in the Dubuque County Jail awaiting a court appearance.
