CRAWFORD COUNTY, Wis. (KWWL) -

Authorities are investigating the events surrounding a disappearance and possible abduction after a teenage girl was missing for more than 14 hours.

According to the Crawford County Sheriff, the girl's family says the 16-year-old girl left for a run around 4:00 Monday, but didn't arrive at her destination.  The family also told the sheriff's office they saw a suspicious vehicle near their farm in Bridgeport earlier in the day.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office says it activated a Code Red alert and also sent out an AMBER Alert.  The FBI, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children response team, the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, and the Prairie du Chien Police Department became involved in the search for the teen.

The sheriff's office says the teenager returned home safely around 6:30 a.m. the next morning, but they continue to investigate what exactly happened.
