Longtime "Saturday Night Live" announcer dies at 96

Don Pardo, the announcer of NBC's long running "Saturday Night Live" has died at age 96, according to NBC News.

Pardo began working for NBC in 1944 and lent his voice to shows such as "The Price Is Right," "Jeopardy!" and "NBC Nightly News." He retired from NBC in 2004, but continued to work for "SNL."

Pardo was the announcer for "SNL" for 38 seasons, working the entirety of the show except the 1981-1982 season. He missed two episodes of the show in 2013 after breaking his hip, but was back in September, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

No other details of his death were immediately available.
