DUBUQUE (KWWL) - Two people escaped without serious injuries after a semi tractor-trailer reportedly ran a red light Wednesday morning in Dubuque, according to the Dubuque Telegraph Herald.

Angela M. Seifert, 36, of Galena, Ill., was taken to Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque for non-incapacitating injuries, and Ryan J. Cady, 20, of Bellevue, Iowa, was taken to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital for non-incapacitating injuries, according to the Dubuque Telegraph Herald.

Dubuque Police Department Capt. Russ Stecklein told the Herald the crash happened at 6:06 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Dodge Street and Northwest Arterial.

He said a semi tractor-trailer driven by Steven A. Gerber, 31, of Nora, Ill., was westbound on Dodge and ran a red light traveling around the posted speed limit. The truck collided with two vehicles, which had a green light to turn eastbound onto Dodge from Northwest Arterial.

Stecklein said Gerber was hauling about 80,000 lbs. of grain in the trailer.

Gerber was cited for failure to stop at a red light. Cady was cited for not having insurance.
