DES MOINES (KWWL) -

The Iowa State Champion Auctioneer says he will donate his prize money to the families of four teenage boys killed in a utility vehicle crash earlier this month.

Tim Markham of Holy Cross competed against 20 other auctioneers Tuesday at the Iowa State Fair.

The Iowa Auctioneers Association organized the contest, where competitors were judged on speed, salesmanship and appearance as they sold random items to an audience.

Markham says he will donate his $1,000 prize to the families of four teenage boys killed on August 2.

“Those four young men and their families have been on my mind a lot lately just like many others in our community and beyond,” Markham said.

Markham also sported Western Dubuque colors in the boy's honor.
