Bucks season ends at Willmar

WILLMAR, Minn. (KWWL) -

Despite finishing with the 3rd best record in the Northwoods League, the Waterloo Bucks will be sitting at home during the postseason. With a playoff bid on the line, Waterloo fell at Willmar 5-1 on Sunday night.

The Bucks opened the day trailing first place Mankato by half a game. The Moondogs dropped an afternoon decision at Eau Claire 7-1 to open the door.

Waterloo, however, failed to capitalize on a pair of big opportunities at Willmar. The team loaded the bases with no outs in both the 4th and 5th innings, but was unable to scratch a run across in either frame.

The Bucks finish the 2014 season with an overall record of 45-27.
