Bucks' sale to Kernels' ownership nears completion

Posted: Updated:
WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The proposed sale of the Waterloo Bucks to the Cedar Rapids Baseball Club Inc. moved one step closer to completion.

Sources within the Bucks organization confirmed that the Northwoods League approved the sale over the weekend. CRBC, which also owns the Cedar Rapids Kernels of the Midwest League, still needs to obtain a stadium lease agreement from the city of Waterloo.

Twin Cities businessmen Steve and John Marso currently own the Waterloo franchise.

The Bucks were formed and joined the Northwoods League in 1995 after the city lost its Midwest League team, the Waterloo Diamonds.
