Iowa City man wins top pickle prize at state fair

DES MOINES (KWWL) -

An Iowa City man won first, second and third places overall in the 2014 Iowa State Fair Famous Dave's Canned Pickles competition.

Rod Zeitler, who also won the Sweepstakes title, took first in 15 of the 24 categories. He took second place in four other categories and was not named in the other two. 

Judges rated entries based on flavor, consistency, appearance and food safety.
