DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Thousands of people flocked to the Port of Dubuque Thursday evening for the 19th annual Taste of Dubuque.

The event benefits the non-profit Dubuque County Historical Society, which operates the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium, Mathias Ham House Historic Site, Old Jail Museum and the National Rivers Hall of Fame in Dubuque.

The event spanned from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday.

Of the 18 vendors, 14 were locally-owned and operated restaurants.

The Dubuque County Historical Society accepted donations at the front gate, though admission was free.
