Waverly has been competing to win $100,000 to put toward a dog park in a nationwide contest sponsored by PetSafe.
Waverly beat out more than 1,000 other communities when it was named one of the top 15 contenders in the online contest.
Organizers anticipate Waverly may have won the $100,000 prize, but online voting results were hidden last week.
"We believe there is a very decent chance that our community will come away with the $100,000 prize. If not, we'll still be proud to win one of their lesser $25,000 prizes," said Joshua Schneiderman.
Schneiderman said the public is invited to hear the results at an announcement at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 7th, at City Hall in Waverly.
