George Wyth House in Cedar Falls to be sold

Posted: Updated:
CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

The historic George Wyth House in Cedar Falls will go on the public housing market starting Monday.

The Cedar Falls Historical Society said the home has been part of the society since 1979. When the society first received the home, it underwent a major restoration to create a unique museum by designing and furnishing the interior in Art Deco style.

Years later, the society says it's time to pass on the home.

"Sell the home to a family that could care for it and love it, and be in it everyday and enjoy it," Karen Smith said with the Cedar Falls Historical Society.

The home will be listed for $325,000 with Oakridge Realtors. Smith said the money will go back into the Cedar Falls Historical Society's endowment.
