UPDATE: Water rescue crews respond in Benton County, everyone safe

Posted: Updated:
BENTON COUNTY (KWWL) - Rescue crews found a woman safe on the banks of the Cedar River after responding to a report of a possible drowning in northern Benton County on Saturday evening.

The location is near Mount Auburn Bridge Park, just south of the Benton-Buchanan County line and about 3 1/2 miles southwest of Brandon.

Crews searched for 48-year-old Jennifer Frye for roughly 30 minutes; she was then found safe sitting on the banks of the river nearby.

Friends of Frye told authorities they hadn't seen her for almost half an hour, and thought she had gone underwater.

Rescue crews say Frye was not hurt, however, she and 35-year-old Trent Hoppe of Garrison, were both arrested for public intoxication. They were taken to the Benton Co. Jail.
