FREDERIKA (KWWL) -

Firefighters spent the night battling a large fire at the Bottomz Up Bar and Grill in Frederika.

According to Bremer County Emergency Management, the Frederika Fire Department responded to the fire at 2 a.m. Wednesday.

No one was in the building at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The fire was controlled shortly before 12:30 p.m.

Frederika Fire Chief Jason Scanlan says it does not appear suspicious.

Scanlan said the hottest part of the building was the back, near the kitchen area.

Assisting the two agencies were Tripoli Fire, Plainfield Fire, Sumner Fire, Fredericksburg Fire, New Hampton Fire, Tripoli EMS, the Bremer County Sheriff's Office and Smith Excavating.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The owner of the bar told KWWL he doesn't know if he'll rebuild.

Shelley Russell and Amie Steffeneicher contributed to this report.
