Clayton County chief deputy resigns for 'personal reasons'

Posted: Updated:
CLAYTON COUNTY (KWWL) - Some big changes have taken place in the Clayton County Sheriff's Office, right in the middle of two of the busiest weeks of the summer for the county.

Just as RAGBRAI wraps up and the Clayton County Fair begins, an integral person in the office has resigned his position.

Sheriff Mike Tschirgi says Chief Deputy Ryan Johnson resigned his position for personal reasons, but is still a member of the department.

Michael Aschinger has been appointed as the new chief deputy.
