Free educational workshop on tree-eating beetle

Gladbrook Trees Forever is hosting a free educational workshop to help people learn about Emerald Ash Bore (EAB), a tree-eating beetle that has already killed tens of thousands of ash trees in the United States.

On Thursday, July 31, experts with the Iowa State Extension Office, the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship EAB Outreach and Regulatory Coordinator, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Trees Forever will discuss how to deal with the pest.

The workshop is at 7 p.m. at the Peace United Church of Christ Church, 201 Johnson Street, Gladbrook.

EAB has now been confirmed in nine Iowa counties. The event is free and open to the public. For more information contact John Clausen, Gladbrook Trees Forever chairperson at 641-473-2269.
