Registration open for bags tournament in memory of Black Hawk Co. Deputy

Family members of former Black Hawk County Deputy Doug Norton have opened up registration for their third annual Memorial Bean Bag Tournament.

Norton died in 2011 after a heart attack following a workout near his home.

He was 32 years old.

The Deputy Doug Norton Memorial Bean Bag Tournament will be held Saturday, August 23 at the 4-H Building in Waverly beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Proceeds from each team's $35 entry fee will be used for a scholarship for Waverly-Shell Rock High School students who plan to pursue a law enforcement career.
