CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - One person is in Linn County jail after gunfire damaged a Cedar Rapids home Friday morning.

Cedar Rapids Police were called to the 1400 block of 5th Ave SE just after 4 a.m. Friday for a report of shots fired. Police found that one home had been struck by four bullets.

During the investigation, police found two people who were "acting suspiciously" nearby. One was allegedly holding a sawed-off rifle.

Both people were taken into custody and interviewed by police.

Following the investigation, Christopher Torres, 19, from Michigan, was charged with unauthorized possession of offensive weapons, carrying weapons, and possession of firearms and offensive weapons by felons.

Police took Torres to the Linn County Jail.

This is the 59th incident of shots fired in Cedar Rapids this year, more than all of 2013. In 2012, there were 64 cases throughout the entire year.
