Sioux City man is 2nd death recorded at this year's RAGBRAI

MASON CITY (KWWL) - A Sioux City man's death Thursday morning is the second death recorded at this year's RAGBRAI.

The body of George "Frank" Brinkerhoff, 74, of Sioux City was found by emergency responders just before 6 a.m. Thursday in a tent at Parkers Woods Campground in Mason City, according to

It was unclear if Brinkerhoff had been cycling with a group or by himself, according to Mason City Police Sgt. Greg Scott.

Dispatchers received a call about Brinkerhoff, but Scott did not know if or how the caller was related to Brinkerhoff.

Scott said it appeared Brinkerhoff died of natural causes.

Brinkerhoff marks the second death on this year's ride, which attracts tens of thousands of cyclists.
