Dubuque Police to host National Night Out in August

The fifth-annual National Night Out will take place in Dubuque on Tuesday, Aug. 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Comiskey Park.

The event is entirely free and will include food, beverages, games, a bounce-house/slide and gifts for the kids. Police and fire department vehicles will also be on display, as well as Brandon Prine's 1997 Ford Mustang Dragster.

The Multicultural Family Center will show "The Lego Movie" outside the community during the event at dusk (approximately 8:30 p.m.).

This is the 31st anniversary for NNO, with an estimated 37.5 million people in nearly 16,000 communities nationwide participating each year, according to the press release.

This years event is put on by the Dubuque Police Department, Target, the Dubuque Multicultural Family Center, Dubuque Leisure Services, area Neighborhood Associations, and numerous other crime prevention and community advocates.
