Don Bosco beats Denver in a 1A Substate Baseball Final, 4-0

The Don Bosco Dons got a 1-hit, complete game shutout from senior pitcher Travis Havel and the Dons beat Denver in a 1A Sub-state Final in Oelwein to advance to state.

Havel won a showdown of unbeaten pitchers as the Don Bosco hitters produced 5 hits and 4 runs to hand Cyclone senior pitcher Brenden Matthias his first loss of the season.

The Dons will play Martensdale St. Mary at 1pm on Friday at Principal Park in Des Moines.
