The four candidates include two current members of the Marion Fire Department, Jason Hansen and Debra Krebill.

Hansen is a 15-year veteran of the fire department and is currently a district chief and fire marshal. Krebill is a 23-year veteran of the department and currently serves as the interim fire chief.

The other two candidates are James Larsen and Lenny Sanders.

Larsen lives in Hampshire, Illinois, and has spent 33 years in fire service with both combination and paid departments. He is currently an emergency incident management instructor. Sanders has spent 20 years in fire service and emergency medical service experience. He is currently a staff critical care paramedic in West Burlington.
