Dubuque law enforcement project leads to 70 citations

On July 16, 2014, Dubuque Police, along with the Dubuque County Sheriff's Office, Iowa State Patrol, and the City of Dubuque Animal Control conducted a multi-agency safety and enforcement project focused on the areas of the city experiencing high impact call areas of the west end of Dubuque. The project also focused on pedestrian traffic, animal issues and traffic violations.

The project took place from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Officers from the above agencies issued traffic citations and warnings. Among the 70 citations issued were 14 for failure to wear a seat belt, 24 for speeding and 2 for open container. 15 animal-related citations were issued. Law enforcement reported making 109 public contacts during that time period. Other citations include no vehicle front plate, vehicle equipment violations and driving under suspension.
