TROY MILLS (KWWL) -

The Linn County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the woman who drowned while tubing in the Wapsipinicon River on Saturday, as well as the three others who were tubing with her. Officials say 29 year old Andrea Zimmermann was with three other people when they went over the dam at Troy Mills just after 5 Saturday evening.

People living in the area say Linn County Sheriff's Deputies and Rescue along with several other emergencypersonnel l were in the dam area for at least three hours.

The three others made it to the shore safely, but Zimmermann drowned in the swift current.

Greg McGraw lives just a mile from the Troy Mills dam, he says he normally tubes all the time in this river, but never before the dam.

"Yeah we go tubing all the time down here and I heard there was an accident. My kids are always tubing," said McGraw. Water being this high, and water moving this fast and rapid, that's why we haven't gone for a few weeks."

Linn County authorities say others with Zimmermann at the time were 32-year-old Robert Olinger, 27-year-old Zachary Kirton and 31-year-old Amanda Harper.

Deputies say were not hurt.

McGraw says they normally start on the lower side of the dam because he knows those swift current are dangerous.

"When you basically get in the deeper water, just knowing the water and where the deep spots are and then watching for current," said McGraw.
