Longtime Dubuque City Council member dies

Longtime Dubuque City Council member, Ann Michalski, 81, of Dubuque, died Saturday.

According to KWWL's coverage partner the Telegraph Herald, Michalski served on the Dubuque City Council for 12 years, from 1995 to 2007. She was a tireless worker for the community, working on housing, economic development, transportation, mental health issues and the arts.

Michalski also served on the Community Development Block Grant Commission and the boards of Mental Health America and Four Mounds Foundation. She was also president of the League of Women Voters.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.
