RAGBRAI riders roll out of Waterloo

Posted: Updated:

RAGBRAI riders are ready to roll out of Western Iowa Sunday to start the big ride across Iowa. About 150 bicyclists filled up trailers and loaded into buses in Waterloo Saturday morning.

They took off for Rock Valley at about 9:00 a.m.

"Really you pay a lot of money, you ride like 400-some miles...to anyone else it sounds crazy, but it's more the experience," said JR Xayasouk of Cedar Rapids.

Xayasouk is riding RAGBRAI with his dad for the second year in a row.

RAGBRAI officially starts Sunday in Rock Valley.

It ends next Saturday in Guttenberg.
