Deputies ask for help finding horse shooters in Amana

Deputies are asking the public's help in finding the person or people responsible for shooting a horse.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, they received a complaint July 17 at 9:15 a.m. about a horse that had been shot at a property on Amana Road NW in Amana.

After the horse was examined, a veterinarian determined the injury had occurred prior to July 17.

Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects.
