Denver crushes Tripoli in 1A District Baseball to advance

DENVER (KWWL) -

In 1A District baseball the Denver Cyclones continued their hot streak, whipping Tripoli 10-0 in five innings to advance to a semifinal round showdown at Postville on Saturday night.

Denver got a sparkling pitching performance from senior Brenden Matthias pitching for the final time on his home field.

Matthias tossed a 2-hit shutout to improve to 8-0 on the season while lowering his 0.56 era.

The Cyclones broke the game open, scoring seven runs in the final two innings.

It's the Cyclones' seventh win in their last nine games.
