New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in Iowa Thursday

Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a potential 2016 presidential candidate, returns to the Hawkeye state Thursday to raise money for Gov. Terry Branstad and Iowa House Speaker Kraig Paulsen.

He is scheduled to be in Cedar Rapids at the Hotel at Kirkwood Center at Noon to host a fundraising event.

The governor's next stop will be at MJ's Restaurant in Marion at 3 p.m.

At 5 p.m., Gov. Christie is scheduled to host "An Evening at the Fair" at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport. The event will be in the Starlite Ballroom at the fairgrounds.

Christie hasn't officially announced any plans to run for president, but speculation is circling. He's scheduled to visit New Hampshire next month as he completes his visits of states with the first two caucuses.
