Benefit in Evansdale for woman battling cancer

Posted: Updated:
EVANSDALE (KWWL) - A benefit will be held Sat., July 12, at 5 p.m. at the Millenium Hall in Evansdale for Colleen Rambo.

Rambo was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in December.

Family members tell KWWL she is receiving treatment at Cancer Centers of America in Chicago, and because of the cancer, she has been unable to work at Tyson Foods in Elk Run Heights.

They say her medical bills are piling up while she continues to care for her children and parents.

Cost to attend the benefit is $10 which covers a meal and drink ticket.

Event organizers say there will also be silent auction items, games, a bake sale and cash bar. All proceeds will go toward Rambo's medical expenses.

The benefit is scheduled to run from 5 until 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.
