WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Dozens gathered in South Waterloo Church Friday evening to learn more about Boko Haram and other terrorists groups.

Dr. Rebecca Dali, from Nigeria, is the founder of the nonprofit Nigerian Center for Caring, Empowerment, and Peace Initiatives. The center focuses on serving the most vulnerable victims of violence - widows and orphans. The center has also provided aid to the thousands of refugees fleeing to neighboring Cameroon or internally displaced within Nigeria.

On Friday, Dali addressed the group to tell talk to them about what is happening and what they can do to help.

"If you are hurt and something is happening to you, if you tell your stories you will be a little bit released. If people hear your story and they show a sign of concern, they will pray for you. You are going to be released," Dali said.

Dali said she was speaking out for the victims who can't speak out for themselves.
