Iowa women accused of stealing lottery tickets

WAVERLY, Iowa (AP) - Two northern Iowa women have been accused of stealing lottery tickets from a gas station where they were former employees.

The Bremer County Sheriff's Office says 52-year-old Julie Dietz and 45-year-old Julie Alford face one felony count each of lottery theft. Court records do not list attorneys.

Authorities say an investigation into possible theft at the former Al Gas Station in Waverly led to the arrests of Dietz and Alford, both of Shell Rock. Additional information was not released.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (http://bit.ly/1jzyrKY ) Dietz and Alford have been released from the county jail. They have pending appearances in Bremer County District Court.
