SHELL ROCK (KWWL) -

A second Shell Rock woman has been charged with lottery theft.

On Thursday, Bremer County officials charged 45-year-old Julie Alford of Shell Rock with one count of lottery theft.

Previously, on June 27, authorities charged Julie Dietz, 52, of Shell Rock with the same charge.

According to a release from the Bremer County Sheriff's Office, authorities were notified on June 6, 2013, of a possible theft at the AI Gas Station, located at 1069 230th Street, in Waverly.

Detective Dave MacDonald with the Bremer County Sheriff's Office said both Alford and Dietz were former employees of the store.

He said both women surrendered themselves to the Bremer County Jail where they were booked into jail, seen by the magistrate, and released on their own recognizance.

MacDonald said both subjects were released and have pending court dates in district court.
